1Who we are
This website (“the Site”) and the digital product The 40-Year Buy List (“the Book”) are published by Dale Whitaker (“we”, “us”, “our”). By purchasing or using the Book you agree to these Terms.
2What you are buying
The Book is a single, downloadable, illustrated digital ebook (PDF), 104 pages, delivered together with the companion materials listed on the order section of the Site. Purchase grants you a personal, non-transferable, lifetime licence to read and print the Book for your own household use, plus all future revisions of the same edition at no extra charge. You may not resell, redistribute, republish, or share the file.
3Pricing & payment
- The launch price is $47 (stated value $102), charged once. There is no subscription and no recurring billing.
- Payment is processed securely by our checkout providers — PayPal or Dodo Payments (merchant of record for card checkout), depending on the button you choose. We do not see or store your card details.
- Prices are in U.S. dollars. Applicable taxes may be added at checkout.
4Delivery
Access is delivered instantly — a download link to the PDF is emailed to the address you provide at checkout, normally within 60 seconds of payment. If you do not receive it, check your spam folder and then contact us.
5Refund policy
You may request a full refund within seven (7) days of your purchase for any reason. To request a refund, reply to your receipt email or contact us at the address below. Refunds are issued to the original payment method, usually the same day. After 7 days, all sales are final.
6General consumer education — not professional or safety advice
The Book is general consumer education about tool selection and durability. It records the author’s own experience of how tools failed in one commercial fleet shop and the buying opinions he formed from it. It is not professional, safety, engineering, or financial advice, and it makes no promise about how any tool will perform in your hands.
Tool performance, service life and safety vary with use, maintenance, application, and the specific model you buy. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions, safety warnings, and torque or load specifications, and use appropriate protective equipment. Any dollar figures used are illustrative worked examples, not claims about what you will spend or save. Results and individual experiences vary, and you are responsible for your own purchasing and safety decisions.
7No affiliation with third-party brands
This Site and the Book are independent. They are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to any tool brand, manufacturer, or retailer named or described in them. There are no affiliate links, referral codes, sponsorships, or paid placements anywhere on this Site or in the Book.
8Intellectual property
All text, illustrations, tables, the cover, the persona “Dale Whitaker”, and the brand “The 40-Year Buy List” are our property and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Unauthorized copying or redistribution is prohibited. Any third-party names or marks referred to in the Book remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification only.
9Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Book is limited to the amount you paid for it. The Book is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
10Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always posted on this page with its “last updated” date.
